Overview

In the end of 2018, DEPOCEN conducted a baseline survey for impact evaluation of the project “Resilience of Vulnerable Coastal Communities to Climate Change related impacts in Vietnam” which was funded by UNDP and Green Climate Fund (GCF). The main objective of the project is to monitor and measure the changes brought by the housing component of the project in 5 coastal provinces of Vietnam. The impact evaluation methodology requires carrying out a quasi-experimental research by implementing a quantitative survey on 400 households, in which 200 households are those “treated” with house building and the others are the control group, in coastal communes of the 2 target provinces. These households will be re-surveyed for endline study so that difference-in-difference figures can reveal the project’s impact on both economic and human aspects of coastal households.
