The Bootcamp in Mathematics for Economics is an intensive course focusing on Mathematics and its applications in economic modeling. The course is designed to provide and systematize advanced knowledge of mathematics, mathematical models, and proofs, aiming to help students become familiar with the rigorous language of mathematics.

The program also introduces the application of mathematics in Microeconomics (such as consumer utility maximization and producer profit maximization) as well as in Macroeconomics (such as optimal growth models).
The curriculum focuses on two main topics: convex optimization in finite-dimensional spaces and discrete-time dynamical systems, as these are widely used in advanced economics courses. This course will help students build essential skills for pursuing higher education in Economics.

• Equipped with mathematical knowledge for economics based on the Lecture Notes: Mathematics for Economics, compiled by Professor Lê Văn Cường (French National Center for Scientific Research – CNRS, Paris School of Economics) and Professor Phạm Ngọc Sáng (Professor of Economics, EM Normandie Business School).
• Receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course.
• Receive guidance and training in applying, practicing, and proving models in research and economic phenomena, taught by two instructors holding Ph.D. degrees from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and Paris School of Economics.
• Especially, students who meet the course completion requirements will be exempted from the Optimization module when enrolling in the Pre-Master/Pre-PhD program.

Language:
Lectures and discussions will be conducted in Vietnamese; course materials and textbooks will be in English.

Approach:
Each session will combine theory and practice. At the beginning of the course, students will receive study materials, have time to review, prepare, and raise questions. During each session, the instructor will focus on answering questions and practicing exercises for each chapter. Additionally, there will be dedicated exercise sessions for students to review knowledge, practice, and receive detailed feedback directly from the instructor.
