Overview
The Doing Good Index™ was developed in 16 economies in Asia to cast light on the policies and best practices that enable the domestic charitable sectors in each of these economies to thrive. DEPOCEN together with the Research Center of Management and Sustainable Development (MSD) conducted a survey in Vietnam to contribute to the construction of the Doing Good Index™. The analysis focused on the regulations, tax policies, procurement and environmental factors that drive homegrown philanthropy in Asia and in Vietnam in particular. An online/telephone survey was conducted with representatives of 121 Social Development Organizations (SDOs), including International Non-Government Organizations, Social funds, Charity funds, Institutes for Social Protection and Social Enterprises. At the end of the study, a seminar in Hanoi was organized to share findings of the Doing Good Index™ with wider audience.
