Assessment of business sustainable development process of enterprises participating in the Program on Benchmarking and Announcing Sustainable Companies in Viet Nam for the period of 2016 -2018

Overview

As one of VCCI-VBCSD’s outstanding initiatives to promote sustainable development in the Vietnamese business community, the Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI) was built as a measure of the corporate value. It is based on sustainable development criteria in the fields of economy, environment and society, in accordance with the domestic socio-political context and international practices.

To help the business community enhancing their sustainable development capacity in management and business strategy, VCCI-VBCSD has implemented the “Program on Benchmarking and Announcing sustainable companies in Vietnam” since 2016.

In order to provide enterprises, the Government and partners with practical and objective data on business’ changes when participating in the Program, VBCSD – VCCI conducts a survey to assess the impact of the Program in corporate management and sustainable development planning.
In total, 98 enterprises consisting of 57 enterprises participating in the Program and 41 enterprises in the control group response the survey through questionnaire (online via email/online form and offline via post office) and direct interviews which were conducted in July 2019.
