Overview
The Rivers of Life project has brought environmental activities focused to youth in the south of Vietnam, due to being increasingly impacted by climate challenges. The project combined education, art, and science for high school students (ages 16-19) in the Mekong Delta region, where the Mekong River flows. The method facilitated multidisciplinary participation, focusing on the impacts of climate change in the Mekong Delta, and simultaneously providing an opportunity to engage online with remote and disadvantaged areas in Northern, Central, and Southern Vietnam.
Project Goal:
– Young Vietnamese understand more about prominent issues related to the four main contents of COP26 (26th Conference of the Parties), especially the impact of climate change on their lives and communities.
– Young Vietnamese grasp the urgency of the challenges caused by climate change.
– Young Vietnamese have the opportunity to develop skills and attitudes to have creatively critical thinking
– The United Kingdom is recognized as a global leader in promoting activities to find solutions to the challenges of climate change
– The British Council has established a reputation as the UK’s organization for cultural cooperation and offers excellent networking opportunities across the Arts, English, and Education sectors.
