Location

Ben Tre

Contract amount

812,416,000 VND

Overview

CHOBA 2, the second phase of the Community Hygiene Output-Based Aid project, was implemented from 2016 to 2018 in Vietnam. In partnership with Vietnam Women’s Unions (WUs) at all levels from the province, district, commune, down to the village, the project continued its work in community education and financial assistance. Through the WUs’ network of promoters, CHOBA 2 has reached out to families in Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Hoa Binh, and Ninh Binh province, promoting the adoption of an additional 35,000 sanitary latrines.
The endline survey was to be conducted in the same location as the baseline survey, i.e. 50 villages from 25 communes of 3 districts in Ben Tre province, using a combination of quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. A total of 1251 households and 75 WU representatives were to be surveyed. In addition, 10 from the top 25 promoters with the best-promoting performance (successfully promoted the highest number of households to adopt septic tank latrines) are to participate in either in-depth interview as singles or focus group discussion as groups.
