Why do some societies manage to escape poverty and enter a phase of sustained economic growth, while others remain trapped in stagnation? Why do deep inequalities in income, education, and living standards persist across countries in today\u2019s modern world?<\/p>\n

This workshop will introduce the Unified Growth Theory, in which Professor Oded Galor will explore the deep historical roots of economic development. He will highlight the roles of human capital, demographic transitions, technological progress, as well as cultural and geographical factors in shaping the diverse development paths of nations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
