Overview

In order to concretize the guidelines and orientations of the Party and Government, the Ministry of Planning and Investment develops a “Program to support and encourage private sector enterprises to apply sustainable, inclusive business models, cleaner production technology, efficient use of natural resources and environmental protection in the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030” according to the tasks assigned in the above Decision 1362 / QD-TTg and Resolution No. 01 / NQ -CP dated January 1, 2020. DEPOCEN collaborated with UNDP to review extant literature and international practices on circular economy, inclusive business model, environmental technology, and carbon finance; systematically outine exisiting support policies of Vietnamese government to encourage businesses toward sustainable development. Besides doing desk research, the research team conducted interviews with key stakeholders such as businesses, experts from the MOIT, MONRE, etc. The result is the content and implementation plan for the Program as well as a policy menu.
