DEPOCEN Scholarships

In addition to its socio–economic research activities, DEPOCEN seeks to encourage talented students to participate in research. DEPOCEN hopes to create a favourable research environment to help students develop their knowledge and creativity. Hence, DEPOCEN cooperates with the Academic and Research Affairs department of the Foreign Trade University (FTU) to present annual science research awards for excellent papers written by FTU students (the award has a fund of VND10 million per year). From 2010 we will also work with FTU lecturers to support students to participate in various scientific research activities.

For the past five years, DEPOCEN has also been providing scholarships for outstanding undergraduate students in the International Economics Faculty of FTU and the Statistics Faculty of the National Economics University. The scholarships are designed to encourage these students to strive for high academic achievement. Besides, DEPOCEN also offers numerous internship opportunities for undergraduate students.

1. DEPOCEN Student Research Awards

Under the framework of cooperation between DEPOCEN and the Academic and Research Affairs department of the Foreign Trade University, these awards are one of DEPOCEN’s social activities aimed at encouraging young talented students to pursue research activities. Via this award, students can demonstrate their commitment to rigorous scientific research and have an opportunity to exchange ideas, knowledge and skills for research activities with others.

The objectives of the award include:

Fostering an early student interest in, and commitment to, research .

Providing guidance and instruction to young talented researchers, to ensure that there is a new generation of researchers for the future.

Creating a wide network of scientific researchers, so that they can exchange knowledge, experience and resources.

2. Scholarships for students of the International Economics Faculty - FTU

DEPOCEN and the Faculty of International Economics, one of the key research faculties of FTU, developed this scholarship in 2010.

The objectives of this scholarship are as follows:

Recognizing and honoring outstanding students of the faculty, who have achieved excellent entrance examination results and academic performance. The aim is to encourage young and talented students, who will contribute in the economic development of our nation.

Cooperating with the faculty to encourage a learning spirit within all students, so that they can fully comprehend the knowledge gained in their undergraduate year, allowing them to go on to satisfy the expectations of society after graduation.

3. Scholarships for students of the Statistics Faculty of the National Economics University

Formed in 2010, this scholarship represents the cooperation between DEPOCEN and the Faculty of Statistics, one of the core faculties of the National Economics University. The faculty provides the human resources for the statistical collection and analysis of our nation. The envidence is that the faculty’s students mostly find employment in various business and research centers, in diverse fields, such as sociology, economics, banking and finance.

The scholarship aims at:

Recognizing and honoring outstanding students of the faculty, who have achieved excellent entrance examination results and academic performance. This aims to encourage young and talented students, who will contribute to the economic development of our nation.

Cooperating with the faculty to encourage a learning spirit within all students, so that they can fully comprehend the knowledge gained in their undergraduate year, allowing them to go on to satisfy the expectations of society after graduation.

Affirming the good relationship between DEPOCEN and the Faculty of Statistics, one of the training grounds for human resources in the statistic field for society, and for DEPOCEN in particular.
