Development and Policies Research Center (Depocen)
is an in dependent institution for development research and policy studies.The center provides accurate and timely information as well as objective analysis, professionally and proactively, on various socio-economic and poverty issues.
On the cutting edge of social-economic transitioning, Vietnam is very much in need of seeking integrated momentum with gas fueled from triangle co-operation government-research & innovation centers-enterprises. In that light, Depocen is one of the pioneers in the field offering standard observation, analysis toward sound policy recommendations with our combined strength of Westerned educated talents and comprehensive understanding on Vietnamese and regional context.
Given the fellows experiences from both public and private sectors as well as the diversity of their majors from trade to youth and employment and other development apsects, Depocen very much facilitates data collection and analysis with cost and time efficiency. Beyond consulting services, professional staff in other NGOs and research center could employ Depocen expertise to perform their own interested research with our research guidelines and introductory courses.

- The DEPOCEN Working Paper Series (DEPOCEN WP) is the first ever peer reviewed economic research paper series in Vietnam. The Series is edited and supported by DEPOCEN WP Editorial Council and Editorial Board, whose members are well-known international and Vietnamese economists and researchers. Submissions of papers from all branches of economics are welcome.
- The DEPOCEN Working Paper Series (DEPOCEN WP) is a peer reviewed series dedicated to prior to journal publication. The series aims at disseminating research findings and promoting scholar exchanges in all branches of both theoretical and applied economic studies, with a special emphasis on Vietnam.
- The views and interpretations expressed in papers published in this series are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily represent the views, consents and policies of the DEPOCEN or its Management Board. - At DEPOCEN we maintain an extensive network of collaborators who work in the industry, education sectors, international NGOs, research institutes and various governmental agencies. We have been consulting for both the industry and several government agencies.
- Members of our center have been advising the industry and several ministries in the following issues
- DEPOCEN provides statistical help for both academic and business research. The Center has worked on many projects with the industry, the academic research community and government agencies. We get questions that can be answered on the spot and harder research questions that can take months or even years of collaboration between the Center staff and other researchers. Our statistical consulting efforts have resulted in many fruitful research collaboration and significant research outputs.

Next Monday's afternoon (4pm),19 July 2010, the Center will be honored to welcome Assistant Professor Bruce Lockhart – an interesting lecturer at National University of Singapore to talk with us on Vietnamese history. He is an expert on Mainland Southeast Asian History with focus on Asia & the Modern World (China, Southeast Asia components), and Buddhism in Southeast Asian History.
